Nepal chapters of PWPA, TARP formed

KATHMANDU, March 25: The Nepal chapters of Professors World Peace Academy (PWPA) and Teachers' Association for the Research of Principles (TARP) were launched amid a function in the capital on Wednesday.

PWPA and TARP are educational organizations founded under the Universal Peace Federation (UPF) to support the academic community's role in the pursuit of world peace.


Rev Sun Myung Moon and his wife, Dr Hak Ja Han Moon of Korea are the founders of the Universal Peace Federation that aims to work for the promotion of world peace through various activities.

In his welcome remarks, former minister Ek Nath Dhakal, who is also a Constituent Assembly (CA) member, had announced grand success of the family festival organized by the UPF Nepal in collaboration with different stakeholders, including Nepal Republic Media Private Limited, in Kathmandu at the National Stadium on February 21. There was overwhelming participation of thousands of persons in the festival.

Amid the function attended by Chitralekha Yadav, Minister of Education, Professor Dr Madhav Prasad Sharma, former vice chancellor of TU, has been appointed president of newly formed PWPA-Nepal while Tuka Nath Dhakal the president for TARP-Nepal.

With the aim of developing scholarly knowledge and values for world peace, the two chapters of global academic organizations established with the ideologies of Father and Mother Moon were launched in the country in the program chaired by Professor Suresh Raj Sharma, founding Vice-Chancellor of the Kathmandu University.
