Nepal-born Kaini elected as councilor in UK

KATHMANDU :May 10: Nepal-born Bachchu Kailash Kaini has been elected to the post of councilor of Dartford area in the United Kingdom, in the recent election.

Originally from Tanahun, Kaini tasted victory in the election after defeating his closest rival David Battlor of the Conservative Party. Kaini was the candidate from Labor Party.


Out of 2,250 votes cast, Kaini received 846 votes while his closest rival Battlor got 802 votes. Kaini can now contest for the post of mayor following his victory to the post of councilor. RSS
