Addressing a gathering of civil servants close to his faction of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP), Oli came down heavily upon the lawyers pleading against the House dissolution move on December 9, last year.
“PM Oli’s statements are against the constitution, law and even against the dignity of the position of prime minister,” reads the statement issued by NBA General Secretary Lilamani Poudel. “We strongly demand that the Prime Minister apologize publicly for his indecent remarks.”
Meanwhile, four former chairpersons of NBA on Sunday strongly opposed PM Oli's remarks denigrating senior-most advocate Krishna Prasad Bhandari. Issuing a press statement, Prem Bahadur Khadka, Sher Bahadur KC, Shambhu Thapa and Harihar Dahal - four former chairpersons of NBA - stated that slandering the senior-most advocate is a shameful attack on the entire legal profession.
