Nepal Army soldier sentenced to life for killing fellow soldier

KATHMANDU, September 3: A military court has sentenced Nepal Army soldier Gangadhar Dhakal to life in prison for the murder of a fellow soldier Bharat Gurung in Simal Hill of Sardanagar in Bharatpur Metropolitan City-17 on July 22.
The court sentenced Dhakal to life imprisonment on the basis of a report from the court of inquiry of Nepal Army. The summary general military court convicted Dhakal of the murder and sentenced him to 25 years in prison, declaring him unfit for any government job in the future. The decision taken on September 1 was implemented the very next day.
