KATHMANDU, Nov 10: Indian President Ram Nath Kovind conferred the honorary rank of General of the Indian Army on Chief of Staff of Nepal Army Prabhu Ram Sharma amidst an investiture ceremony held at the Rashtrapati Bhavan on Wednesday.
General Sharma was presented with a sword, insignia and a certificate of conferment order by President Kovind during the ceremony, according to Nepal Army.
The Nepali and the Indian armies traditionally honor each other’s chiefs by conferring on the honorary rank of General, given the close military ties shared by the two neighbors. General Sharma is currently visiting India at the invitation of his Indian counterpart Manoj Mukund Naravane.
