KATHMANDU, July 2: The National Examination Board (NEB) has prepared to announce the results of the Secondary Education Examination (SEE) by Friday.

The Office of the Controller of Examinations (Class 10) has said that the final work of publishing the examination results is currently being done. Examinations Controller Bishnu Narayan Shrestha said, "We can make it public by July 7.”

According to the Office of the Controller of Examinations, a decision has not yet been taken regarding from which letter grading system the results of SEE will be published.

According to the letter grading guidelines revised by the government on March 2, 2022, a minimum of 35 points must be scored in theory and 40 points in practical exams.

Theoretically, there is a rule that if you get less than 35 marks in any subject, you will be written NG (Non Graded) and you will not be able to proceed to Grade 11 and the students with the result of writing NG will not get the original certificate.

NEB had decided not to implement a 'non-graded' system for this year taking into consideration the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic which led to a disruption of regular teaching and learning activities and the ineffectiveness of the alternative teaching-learning system.

Therefore, the SEE results of the academic session 2078 BS were according to the grading system. 'E' grade was also determined and certificates were distributed to the students according to the system.

Examinations Controller Shrestha said that the results will be published as per NEB’s decision before the announcement of the results.

According to the Office of the Controller of Examinations, about 500,000 students from 2,036 examination centers in 77 districts participated in the SEE examination held from March 31 to April 12.
