KATHMANDU, August 21: Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has expedited the construction of 27 high-powered transmission lines, aiming to improve the quality of electricity distribution.
According to the NEA, it has been constructing transmission lines of the capacity of 132 kV, 220 kV and 400 kV at a number of locations across the country. The NEA has been constructing a 400 kV double circuit transmission line in the Hetauda-Dhalkebar-Inaruwa segment.
Likewise, five transmission lines of 220 kV double circuits are being built in Bharatpur-Bardaghat, Hetauda-Bharatpur, Chilime-Trishuli, Basantapur-Dhungesanghu of Koshi Corridor and Tumlingtar-Sitalpati stretches. Similarly, 132 kV double circuit projects are being constructed in 17 locations while single circuit 132 kV transmission lines are being built in four locations.
