Speaking on the occasion, Rana said the support would obviously enhance the capacity of Nepal Police to reduce crime rate. “It will strengthen our capacity to take rapid action to control crime, manage vehicular traffic and reduce road accidents,” he added.
Osman Turan, Ncell CEO, hoped for the best use of the security and logistic equipments to bring qualitative changes in the police service delivery. “We believe this support will help the security agencies to enhance their services to the people, enabling general public to get crucial services more promptly,” he added.
The motorbikes will be used by Metropolitan police and traffic police as per the need according to officials of Nepal Police. Similarly, the computers will be used by Traffic Police in order to facilitate the growing traffic problems and disseminate information on traffic situations in different parts of the Kathmandu Valley. Likewise, the traffic bands, which are prepared from fluorescent material to be used during night hours, will be distributed to pedestrians.
