KATHMANDU, Oct 29: In a significant step toward expanding and improving its 4G network, Ncell has brought 20 new towers into operation across multiple locations within the past 10 days, enabling customers in these areas to enjoy enhanced voice quality and high-speed data services.

As part of its ongoing initiative to extend coverage and improve network quality, Ncell has installed new towers across several local levels, primarily in Madhesh Province, along with Bagmati and Koshi Provinces, the telecom company said in a statement on Wednesday.

Following the resumption of facilitation from the Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA), the company accelerated its tower installation efforts even during the festive season, successfully activating 20 new sites in record time. These additions ensure better network access and faster 4G connectivity for customers in the respective regions.

In Madhesh Province, Ncell installed 13 new towers in Parwanipur (Bara), Pokharia, Pakahamainpur, and Birgunj (Parsa); Balan Bihul (Saptari); Janakpur, Kataiya, Kamala, and Bideha (Dhanusha); Kaudena and Motipur (Sarlahi); and Yamunamai and Madhav Narayan (Rautahat).

Similarly, six towers have been installed and activated in Koshi Province, including Inaruwa, Barju, Harinagar, and Gadhi (Sunsari), as well as Babiyabirta and Majhare (Morang). One tower was installed and activated in Hetauda (Makawanpur) of Bagmati Province.

“We are expanding and enhancing our 4G network in line with our commitment to improving digital connectivity across Nepal. Ncell has successfully brought 20 new towers online in less than 10 days, ensuring wider access to modern mobile broadband and quality voice services. I am also pleased to share that within the next two days, we plan to activate 10 more towers to better serve our customers. This expansion demonstrates Ncell’s ongoing commitment to strengthening its 4G network and providing reliable mobile services to communities nationwide,” said Upanga Dutta, Chief Consumer Business Officer of Ncell.

Even during the period when the import of new equipment was restricted, Ncell continued expanding and improving its services by installing and operating more than 40 new towers across different parts of the country using existing and spare equipment.

Under its ongoing 4G expansion plan, Ncell aims to install over 170 additional towers across all provinces within the next two months. This continued rollout will further strengthen network access and enhance Quality of Service (QoS) for customers nationwide.

Launched in May 2017, Ncell’s 4G service delivers world-class connectivity and a superior customer experience through advanced technology. The service is now available in all 77 districts, providing 4G access to more than 95 percent of Nepal’s population.
