KATHMANDU, Feb 28: President of Nepal China Chamber of Commerce and Industries (NCCCI) Rajesh Kaji Shrestha has said that the chamber has been working to maintain good economic relationship between Nepal and China.
Speaking at the 14th annual general meeting (AGM) of NCCCI in Kathmandu on Tuesday, Shrestha said that NCCCI has been working on promoting bilateral trade and investment and tourism by organizing and participating in trade expos and seminars, among others. “NCCCI will explore the possibility of promoting bilateral trade and tourism and take needful initiative to resolve problems at the earliest,” Shrestha added. “Nepal should start work on 'One Belt, One Road', he said, requesting Chinese investors to come to Nepal.
Likewise, Yu Hong, Chinese ambassador to Nepal, said that China has always been supporting Nepal on its development process. “NCCCI has played a great role in maintaining trade and economic relationship between Nepal and China.'One Belt One Road' project brought by Chinese President Xi Jinping is supported by over 100 countries of the world,” Yu added.
Similarly, Deputy Prime Minister and Minster for Finance Krishna Bahadur Mahara said that Nepal was facing huge trade deficit despite increase in trade between the two countries. The relationship between Nepal and China will flourish further in the days to come, he added.
