NC woman candidate emerges victorious in Tehrathum-1

TEHRATHUM, Nov 26: Nepali Congress (NC) candidate Sita Gurung has been elected to the member of the House of Representatives (HoR) from Tehrathum electoral constituency-2.

TEHRATHUM, Nov 26: Nepali Congress (NC) candidate Sita Gurung has been elected to the member of the House of Representatives (HoR) from Tehrathum electoral constituency-2.

The 46-year-old Gurung obtained 19,702 votes to beat her nearest competitor CPN-UML's Bijay Subba, who secured 18,623. The vote difference between the two is 1,079. A total of 10 candidates from the Sanghiya Loktantrik Rastriya Manch, Rastriya Prajatantra Party and Janata Samajbadi Party Nepal were in the election race from the constituency. Likewise, Manch candidate Bishnu Kumar Chongbang got 723 votes.
