KATHMANDU, Nov 23: The main opposition Nepali Congress (NC) leader and former Deputy Prime Minister Prakash Man Singh has stated that the NC will continue to remain in opposition in parliament.

While inaugurating the SatyaSai Park in Shankhamul on Monday, leader Singh clarified that his party will stay in opposition as mandated by the people.

He added that the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) was given the mandate to rule for five years therefore the NC will not be part of any power sharing games.

Singh, referring to the NCP disputes, said NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba’s latest meeting with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli could not be interpreted as an effort for power-sharing.

Leader Singh also blamed the government for not working as per the people’s mandate despite having a comfortable majority in parliament.
