BAJHANG, June 20: Two people died in a jeep accident at Bagthala of Kedarsyun Rural Municipality of Bajhang on Tuesday. The deceased are 50-year-old Amrita Singh and 60-year-old Jayadevi Singh. Amrita is the wife of Minister for Internal Affairs and  Law  Prithvi Bahadur Singh of Sudurpaschim Province.


According to Dr Arbindra Adhikari of Rayal Primary Health Center, Deura, the minister's wife Amrita and sister-in-law Jayadevi, who were injured in the accident, died on the way while being brought to the primary health center for treatment.

"Both people died on the way while being brought here for treatment", he said, "The bodies have been kept at the primary health center."


Similarly, the Minister for Internal Affairs and Law of Sudurpaschim Province, who was seriously injured in the accident, has been taken to Banke’s Nepalgunj in a helicopter of the Nepal Army for further treatment. Along with Minister Singh, jeep driver Dharmaraj Joshi and PSO Deepak Bhandari were also taken to Nepalgunj for treatment, Dr Adhikari said.


Jageshwar Bhandari, Deputy Superintendent of Police of Bajhang, said that the jeep (001 Jha 480) in which Minister Singh was going from Dadeldhura to Bajhang district headquarters, fell 100 meters down into the Kalanga river.
