SURKHET, Feb 15: Unified Maoist senior leader Dr Baburam Bhattarai has said that the constitution drafting process was obstructed as ruling parties Nepali Congress and CPN (UML) forgot the essence of peace process.SURKHET, Feb 15: Unified Maoist senior leader Dr Baburam Bhattarai has said that the constitution drafting process was obstructed as ruling parties Nepali Congress and CPN (UML) forgot the essence of peace process.

Speaking an interaction on International Relations and Marxist Approach in a Globalized World organized by the International Relations and Diplomacy Department of Madhyapaschim University (MU) in Surkhet on Sunday, leader Bhattarai said ruling parties obstructed the constitution drafting process by boasting of majority. The process remains affected as Nepali Congress President Sushil Koirala and CPN (UML) chair KP Sharma Oli were not the signatories of the peace agreement, he added.

Speaking on a different note, leader Bhattarai said that both neighbors India and China are pursuing monopolistic capitalism and putting their greedy eyes on Nepal´s´ natural resources. He urged all the nationalistic forces to come to a consensus to protect the national sovereignty as the foreign forces were trying to convert the country as their play ground.

The powerful countries were exploiting the powerless countries in different pretexts and strategies these days, he added. He also said that the class struggle between the haves and have nots has destroyed peace and harmony in the world.

Former Prime Minister Bhattarai said that there would be no peace and 200 countries in the world could not maintain harmonious relations among them unless they internalize the doctrine of socialism.

Similarly, registrar Dr Mahendra Kumar Malla at the university said that the university is moving ahead as a poly-technical institute and has taken the general and technical education simultaneously.
