NC to take initiative to end Tarai issue thru charter amendment: Leader Poudel

HETAUDA (Makawanpur), Nov 17: Nepali Congress (NC) senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel today said NC would take initiative to give a way out of Tarai issue through constitution amendment.

HETAUDA (Makawanpur), Nov 17: Nepali Congress (NC) senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel today said NC would take initiative to give a way out of Tarai issue through constitution amendment. 



A direct dialogue with Tarai people would also be held in this regard, he said while addressing the gathering of district NC cadres held by Makawanpur NC in the district. 



Poudel is currently on a Tarai visit with the objective of 'making Tarai people aware of their basic rights and increasing their self-confidence.' 



He also stressed the need for the NC to amend the constitution through consensus and in agreement with main political parties and Madhes-based political parties, and for creating a conducive environment to hold local body elections slated in five months. 



The former Deputy Prime Minister also said it was the need of the hour for NC party cadres to serve people devotedly while stating that NC should compete against other political parties instead of a fight between NC leaders and cadres for the leadership. 



Poudel also inaugurated internet website to be run by NC in the district. RSS
