Speaking at a press meet in Bidur, KC accused the ruling UCPN (Maoist) of power lust and said this government is incapable to hold any election in a fair manner. [break]
The NC leader also said the Maoists are trying to mislead other parties in the name of consensus and warned that public pressure would be crated to bring down the government.
Arguing that the Maoist party and CPN-UML each led government twice after Constituent Assembly elections, KC said it is now NC’s turn to lead a national consensus government.
Blaming the present crisis on ‘insincerity’ on part of Maoists, KC said national consensus is still possible in next two weeks if the Maoists are really willing for that.
He also said the political parties made a right decision recently by opting for fresh polls and stressed that elections for CA and parliament should be held at a same time.
To ensure peace and constitution, the elected body should be used as CA in the first one year and converted into the parliament in the remaining four years, KC added.
