KATHMANDU, May 14: The Nepali Congress (NC) will allow the government to submit the policies and programs for the upcoming fiscal year, set to be presented to the Federal Parliament today by President Ram Chandra Paudel.

NC lawmaker Ramhari Khatiwada said that the NC Parliamentary Party meeting, held at Singha Durbar on Tuesday morning, extensively deliberated on allowing President Paudel to present the policies and programs in the joint session of the Federal Parliament.

According to Khatiwada, there would be no obstruction by the party during the presentation of the government’s policies and programs in parliament by the President. He said that the focus would strictly remain on the outlined agenda without diverging into other topics.

This decision has led to mixed reactions among parliament members regarding allowing President Ram Chandra Paudel to present the government’s policies and programs during the ongoing session. Senior leaders are in favor of letting President Paudel present without interruptions, while some younger leaders believe disruptions should continue until a parliamentary committee is formed to investigate the home minister's alleged involvement in a cooperative fraud case.

Earlier, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal urged NC leaders not to obstruct the presentation of the government’s policies and programs.

The NC has been disrupting parliament’s sessions, demanding the formation of a parliamentary inquiry committee to probe the cooperative scandal. President Paudel is scheduled to present the government's policies and programs at today's joint session of the Federal Parliament at 3 PM.
