KATHMANDU, Nov 29: Nepali Congress (NC) on Sunday officially refuted that party president Girija Prasad Koirala and UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal had reached no clandestine deal in Singapore.

Issuing a press statement, the party´s chief secretary Ram Chandra Pokharel said the media reports about the alleged clandestine deal had drawn serious attention of the party.

The NC said the media reports about the so called deal in Singapore was ´baseless´ and ´fabricated´. Media reports have claimed that the two leaders had agreed to force President Dr Ram Baran Yadav to resign and to topple the Madhav Kumar Nepal-led government.

The party has urged all not to believe in such reports as senior NC and Maoist leaders have already refuted reports.
