During the visit, the NC President is scheduled to meet Indian Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh, Congress-I Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Minister for External Affairs Salman Khurseed and high-level government and political leaders. [break]
This is Koirala´s first official visit to India since he assumed the post of the President of the Nepali Congress Party.
Talking to reporters at the Tribhuvan International Airport, President Koirala described his visit as a goodwill visit and expressed the confidence of receiving cooperation and goodwill of India in successfully holding the CA elections in Nepal.
President Koirala is accompanied by party general secretaries Prakash Man Singh and Krishna Prasad Sitoula. He is also scheduled to visit Bihar and Uttar Pradesh states of India.
