KATHMANDU, May 21: The main opposition Nepali Congress (NC) has begun preparations to impeach President Bidya Devi Bhandari.
“Both the President and prime minister have falsified the constitution. Discussions to impeach the president are underway,” said NC leader Ram Chandra Poudel. “We are scheduled to hold discussions with other political parties after 12 this noon,” he added.

The party has concluded that PM Oli has been trampling on the essence and spirit of the constitution and the President has always been on his side, said Poudel.
“NC will soon reach a conclusion after holding discussions on possible alternatives with other political parties.”
Nepali Congress held a meeting of its office bearers and former office bearers at 9AM in Budhanilkantha today.
