The Mahasamiti meet is considered the party’s second important gathering after its general convention. Participating leaders are currently addressing the inaugural session.
Earlier in the morning, a person identified as Binod Kandel was electrocuted while two others were injured during the course of setting up the stage at the assembly venue. Critically injured, Kandel breathed his last while being taken to hospital. The two injured are receiving medical treatment in a nearby hospital.
The closed session will be held at Gajendramoksha, Tribenidham, some 23 kilometers from the district headquarters, Parasi. The organizers had earlier said they would bring as many as 50,000 people to the inaugural session.
