The name of Bishnu Kumar Rai and Naresh Kumar Shrestha were recommended by the party´s central committee as the party´s candidates from this constituency in the forthcoming Constituent Assembly (CA) election. [break]
This decision of the central committee infuriated the local party cadres and leaders and prompted them to jointly resign from the party membership, it is learnt. Dissatisfied former state minister Shiva Kumar Basnet, Mahendra Kumar Katawal, the party´s general body member, Devi Rai, District Party Treasurer, Keshav Karki, District Party Secretary and Bishnu Raj Rai, Regional President of the party of Constituency No. 2 in the district resigned from their respective posts.
´We were compelled to resign en masse from the post due to dissatisfaction over the ticket distribution policy of the party´s central committee,´ said Katawal.
Likewise, Shyam Kumar Rai has filed his candidacy against Naresh Kumar Shrestha from Constituency No.1 and Bishnu Raj Rai has filed his candidacy against Bishnu Kumar Rai from Constituency No. 2. ´We are compelled to file our candidacy against the party recommended candidates,´ said Shyam Kumar Rai.
It is noted that Shyam Kumar Rai is a party secretary of Constituency No. 1 and Bishnu Raj Rai is a party president of Constituency No. 2.
