KATHMANDU, Oct 2: Nepali Congress leader, Suprabha Ghimire, has announced to quit the party on Wednesday.

According to our correspondent, Kosh Raj Koirala, Ghimire quit the party expressing dissatisfaction over party’s decision not to recommend her as a candidate for the first-past-the-post electoral system from Kathmandu Constituency no.4 in the forthcoming Constituent Assembly election. [break]

Leader Ghimire was an elected MP under the FPTP electoral system from the same constituency in the CA election held in 2008. She had been engaged with the party for the last three decades.

However, party’s local committee recommended NC’s Central Committee member Gagan Thapa this time from the Constituency no.4. As per the recommendation of the local committee, the NC picked Thapa as a candidate from the Constituency.
