KATHMANDU, May 20: The main opposition party Nepali Congress (NC) has drawn the attention of the government over the second wave of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the country.
NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba on Thursday handed over a 15-point memorandum to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli drawing the government’s attention to combat COVID-19.
Deuba was accompanied by other leaders of the party including Krishna Prasad Sitaula, Purna Bahadur Khadka and Prakash Sharan Mahat.
In his letter, President Deuba demanded the government expedite diplomatic and other efforts necessary for the procurement of vaccines against the coronavirus in view of the possible third wave of the disease. In the letter, Deuba also suggested to the government to intensify contact tracing, hire additional manpower and expand health infrastructures.
