KATHMANDU, OCT 4: Nepali Congress (NC) General Secretary Gagan Thapa has called upon citizens, party cadres and elected representatives to take active and responsible roles in responding to disasters brought about by incessant rainfall.
In a statement issued on Friday, Thapa urged all concerned to ensure the wide dissemination of government-issued notices and to alert communities in areas deemed at risk.

“In this situation created by heavy rainfall, I appeal to all Nepali citizens, NC colleagues and elected representatives at the local and provincial levels to circulate the government’s notices and, whilst safeguarding their own safety, to engage in rescue, relief and service efforts,” he said.
Thapa further requested party members at all levels to remain active in their respective areas by adhering to the party’s directives and guidance. He emphasised that effective coordination between federal, provincial and local governments is crucial in disaster management, stressing that it is imperative for all agencies and personnel to act with a shared sense of responsibility.
