NC General Convention: Voting for new leadership concludes

KATHMANDU, March 6: Voting for the new leadership in the 13th General Convention of the Nepali Congress (NC) has concluded on Sunday evening.

A total of 3,148 votes were cast.The party is yet to decide on 30 representatives who were not allowed to vote. The representatives were nominated by late NC President Sushil Koirala.
 
Vote counting for the president is set to begin from 10 pm.

NC Acting President Ramchandra Paudel, Senior leader Sher Bahadur Deuba and General Secretary Krishna Prasad Sitaula are vying for the post of party president.

The winner of the NC president will be announced through runoff elections if any of the candidates fails to secure more than 50 percent of the votes in the first round of elections.

A total of 312 candidates are vying for 64 positions, including three office-bearers and CWC members of the party.
