The NC on Thursday discussed about the election for the two key positions with the Madhes-based parties, who voted for NC President Sushil Koirala in the election for prime minister.
"As we have already decided to contest on key positions, we have been discussing the issue with various parties in the parliament. Today (Thursday), we discussed the issue with Madhes-based parties. However, the meeting of party's office-bearers on Friday morning will finalize things," said Dilendra Prasad Badu, the spokesperson of the party. During the meeting with the NC, Madhes-based leaders informed that they are still undecided whether to attend voting or not but urged the NC to speed up the task of constitution amendment.
"We have not taken any decision whether we'll vote or not for the two positions. Actually, we are not interested. Thus, the question of fielding our candidates is a distant subject for us now," said Federal Socialist Forum Nepal (FSFN) Vice-Chairman Lal Babu Raut.
The second rung leaders of Madhes-based parties are pressing their leaders not to attend voting in parliament until the constitution amendment begins.
