Sources said the establishment faction held a meeting at the residence of party president Sushil Koirala on Tuesday evening. Another meeting was held at the residence of Ananda Dhungana on Thursday evening.

Several leaders, including PP leader Paudel, General Secretary Krishna Prasad Sitaula, Gopal Pahadi, Bal Bahadur KC, Dil Bahadur Gharti, Ram Krishna Tamrakar and Dilendra Badu participated in the meeting.

During the meeting held at Koirala´s residence, the leaders had asked Koirala and Sitaula as to what kind of agreement was reached with Deuba in exchange of their support to endorse the name of Paudel and Sitaula as vice president and general secretary, respectively, through the central working committee meeting.

Koirala admitted to have told Deuba that he would have no reservation if the latter removed Paudel through due process, according to a leader present at the meeting.

Meanwhile, several leaders, including Nara Hari Acharya, Khum Bahadur Khadka, Dilendra Badu and Minendra Rijal have demanded that the party leadership settle the PP leader row at the earliest.

At the informal meeting of the CWC members held at Koirala´s residence on Thursday, the leaders decided to sit for another informal meeting on Saturday to chalk out the party´s strategy on whether to obstruct House that is scheduled to start debate on the budget from Sunday. NC has already registered its dissatisfaction over the leakage of budget content before it was presented in parliament.
