NC CWC meeting postponed for Sunday to hold further discussions to forge consensus

KATHMANDU, Aug 27: The Central Working Committee (CWC) meeting of the ruling Nepali Congress (NC) scheduled for Wednesday has been postponed for Sunday at 2 PM.


The CWC meeting was put off citing the need to hold further discussions to reach consensus on certain issues in the organizational proposal put forth by General Secretary Gagan Thapa and the contemporary political proposal presented by General Secretary Bishwo Prakash Sharma.

Earlier on Tuesday, NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba had summoned the vice-president and general secretaries to his Budhanilkantha residence to reach an agreement on the reports presented by the general secretaries.


NC president, vice president, and general secretaries have yet to address the CWC meeting, which has been ongoing since August 7. Following their discussions, the reports presented during the Mahasamiti meeting will need to be endorsed.
