KATHMANDU, July 15: The main opposition Nepali Congress has expressed its concerned over the postponement of the meeting of House of Representatives till July 24. Former Prime Minister and party president Sher Bahadur Deuba has strongly expressed his objection over defer of the lower house meeting for 10 days.
Stating that the parliament should have rather come together at this time of sorrow caused by flooding and landslides across the country to provide help to the flood victims, Deuba criticized Speaker Krishna Bahadur Mahara for suspending the house meeting for so long.
Ruling parties propose deferring polls yet again
Deuba speaking with media while walking out of the parliament building following the meeting postponement, said, “This is a serious matter. At the time when all lawmakers should have been allowed to discuss the relief and rescue operation, the parliament meeting is deferred suddenly for so long. This shows that the government does not want to discuss the issue in the house.”
