KATHMANDU, August 12: The ruling party, Nepali Congress (NC), has called a central working committee meeting today.
The meeting will take place at 2:00 PM to discuss the new calendar of events of the 14th general convention and guidelines on election.
Earlier, the NC had decided to hold the 14th general convention of the party from September 1 to 4 in Kathmandu. However, the general convention has fallen uncertain due to serious differences seen in the party over the distribution of active memberships.
The general convention has already been deferred twice. A meeting of the party's office bearers held on July 10 made the decision to defer the convention by nine days, bringing some revisions in the calendar of events of the general convention. Earlier, the NC had decided to hold the 14th general convention from August 23 to 26 in Kathmandu.
