KATHMANDU, Nov 2: Members of the ‘Nepali Congress Reform Campaign (Under-40)’ on Sunday padlocked the main gate of the Nepali Congress (NC) headquarters in Sanepa, demanding that the party hold its regular general convention and ensure 40 per cent representation of youths.
Breaking through police security, the youth campaigners reached the party gate and staged a demonstration. They chanted slogans calling for accountability and organizational reform within the party.

As soon as the office gate was locked, the protesters sat outside and continued their sit-in, shouting slogans such as “If a regular general convention cannot be held, the current central committee should be dissolved!” and “The voices of ordinary congress members and youth must not be ignored!”
The second tier leaders and young cadres of the NC have been pressing party leadership to announce the schedule for a general convention and to restructure the organization to include more young members in decision-making positions.
