Yadav has received two bullets on his right leg and one on his left. Locals had immediately taken him to the district hospital for treatment after he fell down from his motorcycle.
The bleeding hadn’t stopped when he was brought to Nepalgunj for further treatment, but doctors have said he was out of danger.
Yadav claimed those who shot him to be UCPN (Maoist) cadres. However, police and local administration said he was shot by an unidentified group.
Yadav’s brother Harishchandra said the person had intended to kill his brother but missed his shot as he was on motorcycle.
Meanwhile, UCPN (Maoist) politburo member and Tharuwan State in-charge Haribhakta Kandel denied his party’s involvement in the incident.
Yadav had served a one-and half-month jail sentence on the charge of killing then Maoist leader Nankau Godiya three and half years ago.
