KATHMANDU, June 7: The Nepal Bureau of Standards and Meteorology (NBSM) has implemented the revised provision in regard with the obtainment of Nepal Standard Certification (NSC) mark while importing 11 sorts of foreign goods.
As per the new provision, the NSC mark should be obtained abroad ahead of importing the 11 specified goods.
The new provision shall apply in the import of general Portland cement, general slag, Portland Pozzolana Cement (PPC), LPG cylinder, dry cell and battery, iron rods, GI wire, composite gas cylinder and tubes, PVC cable, LPG regulator and valve fitting objects.
NBSM Spokesperson Romi Manandhar confirmed the enforcement of a revised provision in the import of 11 foreign products. Prior to this, the NSC was obtained following the import of goods.
NBSM has announced penalties in the case of violation of the provision. So far 61 goods and 203 industries have obtained NSC mark in the country. RSS
