Minister Bhatta arrived here on inspection to Dodhara-Chandani whether the area could be made dry port or not.[break]
Speaking at an interaction with the Industrial entrepreneurs in Kanchanpur, on Tuesday, he said the budget allocated for the district’s development was misused by local representatives of political parties, business entrepreneurs, and the government officials that the district was back warded and urged the local people to move ahead having unity to stop the corruption.
He said the government has started to work for the development of the Far-Western Development Region. For this, the government has brought various programs for the construction of roads, bridges, establishment of industries and Far-west Regional University that it need active support from local people.
He said there were maximum possibilities for the development of the region, adding, the area could have radical change when the dry port was established in Dodhara-Chandani area to connect the region with international trade centre.
During the interaction, Secretary of the ministry Purushottam Ojha said the government is forwarfing the process to construct a dry port in Dodhara-Chandani area as the Asian Development Bank shows interest for the survey.
Former President of Kanchanpur Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Kanchanpur Chapter, Hem Raj Pandey requested to minister Bhatta to play crucial role on tourism and industrial development of the area.
The Chapter also submitted a memorandum that included 13-point-demand for the development of the Far-West region to Minister Bhatta from the side of Industrialists.
Industrialists, representatives of different organizations and leaders of political parties were present in the interaction.
