Nationwide band auditions

KATHMANDU, Sept 2: The first audition round of ‘All Nepal Battle of the Bands’ organized by Odyssey Zorastrism is being held on October 6 in Lakeside, Pokhara. “The competition between rock, punk and metal bands is expected to stretch up to a few months,” says Sushil Karki, Kathmandu Project, Coordinator.



He adds, “The audition is going to be held in the form of a concert. We have ‘4 dead in 5 seconds’ from Australia as the main attraction. Other guest bands will be ‘Binaash’ from Kathmandu, ‘If Hope Dies’ from Darjeeling and ‘House of Lords’ and ‘Psychotic Knerve’ both from Pokhara.”[break]



The competition starts in Pokhara and heads to Butwal on October 8. Bands from Damak and Dharan will also get their a chances on November 8 and 10 respectively. December 17 and 19 will see the audition live in Hetauda and Narayanghat. Kathmandu is set to see the will audition on December 1.







The participants will be judged on the basis of their music, presentation and appearance with points given to band synchronization, audience connection, song quality and originality. The audience can vote for their favorite band through SMS and Facebook, and live voting in the venue.



Each winner in the category will receive gift hampers and the chance to record an album.



The closing date of the registration is set for September 30 for Pokhara and Butwal and November 31 for the rest. For those in Kathmandu, it is December 1.



Interested participants can download the send in their registration form from jukson.com and ozevents.org. The entrance fee per band is Rs 5000.
