National triathlon in Pokhara

KATHMANDU, Nov 4: National Sports Council (NSC) is set to hold the Fourth National Triathlon Tournament under the Seventh National Games in Begnas Lake of Kaski district on Saturday.



The tournament will feature three events -- standard discipline (1,500 m swimming, 40 km cycling and 10 km race), sprint (750 m swimming, 20 km cycling and 5 km race) and duathlon (5 km race, 20 km cycling and 2.5 km race). The Seventh National Games is slated to be held in the Eastern Region.

The tournament will also serve as the selection event for the 12th South Asian Games scheduled to be held in Guwahati and Assam in India on February 6-16.


Altogether 40 players, including 30 men and 10 women, from five development regions as well as two departmental teams, Tribhuvan Army Club and Armed Police Force, will take part in the tournament.
