KATHMANDU, Feb 23: A meeting of the National Security Council held on Tuesday discussed matters pertaining to election security.
The meeting, which took place at the Prime Minister's official residence, Baluwatar, was presided over by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli. Apart from issues related to election security, the meeting also discussed the country's overall security situation, sources said.
The government has already announced midterm elections for April 30 and May 10 and the Election Commission has been preparing for the same.
Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa, Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel, Chief Secretary Shanaker Das Bairagi and Army Chief Purna Chandra Thapa attended the meeting.
