National Medical College raid: MD Ansari and lab technician arrested

PARSA, April 8: The joint monitoring team of District Police Office Parsa and Birgunj Metropolitan City raided the National Medical College in Birgunj.


After finding expired medicines in the medical college, the police arrested the college's Managing Director (MD) Shahnawaz Hussain Ansari and lab technician Sanjay Sah.

The monitoring team led by Kanhaiya Thakur, a member of the market management and monitoring committee of the Birgunj Metropolitan City, conducted a raid in the laboratory (lab) in Block (A) of the National Medical College.


Thakur said that during the raid, the team led by Deputy Mayor Imtiyaj Alam found expired medicines dating back to 2021 and 2022.


Parsa police chief Kumud Dhungel informed Republica that the monitoring team raided the laboratory based on information that expired chemicals were being used for testing within the laboratory.



According to him, expired chemicals were recovered during the raid in the lab. The monitoring team said that further investigation processes have been initiated into all the seized chemicals.
