"Donation in festivals, contribution to prosperity" is the slogan of the donation campaign

KATHMANDU, Sept 30: National Innovation Center (NIC), a non-profit organization established by Magsaysay laureate Mahabir Pun, has urged all to make some donation to the organization in the upcoming festivals in order to help promote prosperity in the country.

Launching a campaign with the slogan “donation in festivals, contribution to prosperity~I” on Sunday, the NIC urged the people to make donation to help it achieve its objective to make the country prosperous through various innovations.

The main motive of this campaign is to raise funds for the upcoming NIC projects. If enough funds are raised, then the organization will be able to develop products which has been said to be a sustainable income generation for NIC, according to Innovation Manager Sunil Baniya at the NIC.

The innovation center has already established many of its innovative ideas such as delivering medicines in rural areas using drones, baby incubators for rural clinics and hospitals, and many more. As monkeys are a big headache for farmers in hills across the country, the NIC has come up with a monkey-chasing machine.

The machine is just one of the various devices that the center has been developing of late. The NIC is also working on Sel-Roti maker and Reverse Vending Machine, which takes in plastic bottles for forwarding to a recycling plant.

NIC officials said they are appealing for the fund in the form of donations in order to make the organization more sustainable so that they could continue working on various projects such as developing soft drinks from ginger and herbs and export-quality mineral water from Himalayan springs, among many other products.

The long-term money-making idea to make the organization sustainable is to register a hydropower company with National Innovation Center as the major stakeholder and develop a 10 to 15 Megawatt hydropower station. The hydro power generated will be sold to the government, which is expected to help generate income for the center.

Interested people can make donations through NIC's bank account, e-Sewa (Merchant code #1909240053) and Gofund me (gofundme.com/nic-hfn/donate). Also, they can deposit money at separate accounts of NIC at Himalayan Bank, Thamel (Account Number 01906322060017) Everest Bank, New Baneshwor (Account Number: 0100105201853). ~I
