KATHMANDU, March 22: Cottage and Small Industry Development Committee (CSDB) has announced to organize 29th National Industrial Products & Technology Exhibition in Kathmandu from March 23 to 27.
On the sidelines of the expo, CSDB is also giving away Best Cottage and Small Entrepreneurs Awards 2018.
Speaking at a press meet in Kathmandu on Wednesday, officials of CSDB said that nearly 75 percent of preparatory works have already been completed. The expo is being organized with the slogan 'Use Local Products to Move Toward Prosperity'.
The expo will be held in Brikuti Mandap Exhibition Hall.
According to the organizers, cottage and small entrepreneurs from all 77 districts will participate in the expo.
Navin Kumar Jha, executive director of the board, told media persons that the main objective of the expo is to promote products of cottage and small industries. Apparels from natural fiber, apple products, bamboo products, Mithila art, leather products and other food products, will be showcased at the expo, according to Jha. "There will also be live demonstration of pottery, paper making, screen printing, sweater knitting and several other activities," he added.
The event is expected to see participation of importers, exporters, entrepreneurs, traders, teachers, students, foreign tourists as well as other visitors, according to the organizers. The expo will have 300 stalls.
"We are expecting around 500,000 visitors and around Rs 80 million worth of transactions during the five-day expo,” Jha added.
According to the organizers, visitors get free entry to the expo. The board is also awarding best cottage and small entrepreneurs in the country on the sidelines of the expo.
