KATHMANDU, Oct 30: The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) bade farewell to the national football team which is leaving for Malaysia on Sunday to compete in the AFC Solidarity Cup to be held in Kuching from November 2-15.
Speaking at the farewell program organized at the ANFA Complex on Sunday, ANFA Senior Vice President Mani Kunwar extended his best wishes to the team.
“This year has been very fruitful to us. We have won two international tournaments and I want to request you to keep the winning momentum alive. Give you best and success will follow,” he said. “I have been recently elected as the Senior Vice President in the election held last week. I am type of person who believes in hard-work rather than tall talks. I will leave no stone unturned to develop Nepali football.”
Nepal is pitted in Group A alongside Brunei DS and Timor Leste. The other consists of Sri Lanka, Macau, Mongolia and Laos.
Nepal has their first game against Brunei DS on November 5 followed by a match against Brunei on November 8. A win will secure Nepal a semifinal berth.
