National football team to play charity match

KATHMANDU, Oct 27:  Nepal National Football Team is set to play against 'Friends of Japan' in a charity match at the ANFA Complex on November 19. All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) and Colorbath, a Japanese NGO, are jointly organizing the match to mark the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Nepal and Japan.

Japanese team lead by Toda Kazuyuki, who played for Japan in the FIFA World Cup 2002, consists of players who have experiences of playing in J-League and other foreign leagues.

Ticket prices for the match are fixed at Rs 1500 and 1000 and the money raised from ticket sales will be spent for the development of sports and reconstructions of educational institution in earthquake affected districts of Nepal. 

The 16-member Japanese team will reach here on November 17 and is expected to visit historical sites in Kathmandu destroyed by the earthquake during their stay.
