“This is a great opportunity not only for Surkhet but the whole of Western Nepal. So it ought to be a collective responsibility of all of us to make it a grand success,” rejoiced the festival committee’s director Govinda Koirala.
Nepal Film Development Board, headed by Ganesh Bhandari, has already reached Surkhet to make preparations for the event. “We’re expecting over 100 artists from Kathmandu coming to Surkhet,” he informed.
The event also hopes to boost the local tourism of Sukhet. Director Simha Gurung, of the film “Bandhaki,” opined, “Our hope is that the presence of artists at the festival here will bring new possibilities for the place.”
