National College organizes Open Day to showcase talents of its students

KATHMANDU, Dec 30: National College (KU), Dhumbarahi celebrated open day this week amidst various events and activities.  


The college took a small and cautious step to allow interactions amongst its existing as well as prospective students with the implementation of all the safety protocols demanded by the pandemic.

The event organized after a hiatus of two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic provided an opportunity to students to finally open up and showcase their various endeavors and talents. These included a range of entrepreneurial ventures initiated by the students prior to and during the pandemic, according to a press statement issued by the National College.


Ventures such as sustainable eatery, organic candle and incense making, sustainable clothing and wear, promotion of ethnic food items and many more were showcased during the event organized on Friday. Movie screening of indie/alternative genres of cinemas that carried rousing social commentaries was another highlight of the day.  


According to the statement, this event also opened its door to allow prospective students and the parents to have a look around the college in order to get familiar with the college and gain information. Prospective students were able to check out the courses and attend counseling sessions on their curricula of interest.


They also got to witness myriad activities available on campus and see hands-on-exhibits and extra curricular activities while the college tour was provided which allowed students to experience the college in a more typical environment. 


The National College, affiliated to Kathmandu University, offers courses in Bachelor’s of Development Studies (BDevS), Bachelor’s in Development Finance (BDFin) and Bachelor’s of Social Sciences (BoSS).
