National Assembly passes condolence motion over Ansari's demise

KATHMANDU, March 18: A meeting of the National Assembly today endorsed a condolence motion over the demise of House of Representatives (HoR) member Manju Sharma Ansari. 

National Assembly Chairman Narayan Prasad Dahal proposed that the session endorse the condolence motion which was passed unanimously. Presenting the proposal, the National Assembly Chairman paid tributes to the departed soul and extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family. 

The meeting also observed one-minute silence over the passing of Ansari. Ansari, 60, a lawmaker from the Janata Samajbadi Party Nepal under the proportional representation system, died in the course of treatment on Sunday. 

The upper house of the Federal Parliament shall meet again at 11:15 AM on March 20, Wednesday.
