Deliberation on constructing Nepali styled physical infrastructure begins

KATHMANDU, Aug 7: Deliberation on the issues of public importance on constructing tourism-related physical infrastructure reflecting unique Nepali architecture presented by parliamentarian Dr Bimala Poudel has begun in today's meeting of the National Assembly.

Endorsing the proposal presented by Dr Poudel, the parliamentarians had raised questions related to the subject matter which was responded by Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Yogeshwor Kumar Bhattarai. Responding to their questions, Minister Bhattarai said that preparations were afoot to develop Tribhuwan Airport as a boutique airport.

Bhattarai explained that the boutique airport would showcase Nepal's unique and cultural specialties. Stating that 278 quake-damaged heritages were already reconstructed, the Minister shared that preparations were made to complete the reconstruction of 389 quake-damaged cultural monuments within two years. He urged all the concerned Ministries and stakeholders to pay attention to preserving the cultural value of the quake-hit monuments during reconstruction.

Similarly, National Assembly Chairman Ganesh Prasad Timalsina read out the letter received from the Office of the President on assigning Deputy Prime Minister Ishwor Pokharel to work as the Acting Prime Minister following Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli's medical trip to Singapore. Likewise, a letter from Office of President on appointing Bhattarai as the Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation at the recommendation of PM Oli, was also readout.

The next meeting of the National Assembly is scheduled for August 26 at 1 pm.
