KATHMANDU, March 28: The National Assembly session has been adjourned for an hour. As soon as the meeting started on Friday, MPs from opposition parties, including the CPN (Maoist Centre) and the Unified Socialist Party, stood up to protest.
National Assembly Speaker Narayan Dahal said that political leadership should engage in dialogue. He said that the proceedings of the National Assembly would be affected if both the ruling and opposition parties remained indifferent.

Although Speaker Dahal urged the opposition MPs not to disrupt the proceedings, they did not settle down. Consequently, Speaker Dahal adjourned the session.
Opposition parties, including the main opposition, have been obstructing both houses of Parliament in protest against the removal of Kulman Ghising from the position of Managing Director of the Nepal Electricity Authority.
Dahal said that obstructing the house will not resolve the issue.
