KATHMANDU, May 3: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said the country had moved towards the course of constitution enforcement along with a national unity with the commencement of a process for the local-level election.

In his address to the 39th meeting of the National Development Problems Resolution Committee here today, the Prime Minister said an increasing people's participation in the election-related activities had paved the way for the country to move ahead to meet the goal of constitution implementation.
Stating that the government was committed to holding the election in a free, fair and peaceful atmosphere, PM Dahal said the people of mountain, hill and the Tarai had wholeheartedly welcomed the election.
He went on to say that country's overall economic growth index was trailing towards a positive direction and called on all bodies concerned to expedite the post-earthquake reconstruction efforts which according to the PM have failed to take a pace.
"Country's economic growth rate in the current fiscal year is expected to be round seven present in the current fiscal as a result of government policy and procedural improvements and the situation is that the inflation in overall will be less than the projection." He insisted on the need of working in such a ratio so that the minimum capital expenditure will be 80 per cent.
The PM who is also the chair of National Planning Commission expressed his concern over the sluggish progress on the implementation of Kathmandu- Tarai fast track and West Seti Hydropower Project, sought the expedition of such projects within a month.
On the occasion, PM Dahal directed the Ministry of Finance and the National Planning Commission to prepare a budget that would be appropriate to all levels from federal to local and formulate plans accordingly.
Ministers present in the meeting apprised the PM of the projects of national pride and overall problems seen in the implementation of projects.
NPC Vice Chair Dr Meen Bahadur Shrestha shared information about prioritization of 484 projects implemented in the current fiscal year, second-quarterly expenditure details and progress on the implementation of the projects of first priority. RSS
