According to a statement issued by Public Relations Directorate of the NA on Thursday, a Summary General Army Court formed under NA´s Eastern Division Head Major General Narendra Bahadur Rawal slapped the punishment over the death of Bhandari, who died during an outdoor exercise conducted by the Brigade on Feb 10 earlier this year. The court has dismissed Junior Warrant Officer Ram Kumar Tamang and Corporal Dil Bahadur Gautam with seven and three years jail term respectively and also declaring them unfit for public service in the future.
Likewise, Corporal Surendra Kunwar and Lance Corporal Krishna Arjun Khadka have been slapped four-month jail term and one post demotion each, added the NA´s statement.
The court has ordered to halt promotions of Sergeant Umesh Chandra Dahal and Lance Corporal Raghulal Tamang for four years and three years respectively. Rifleman Mohan Karki has been sentenced to four months in jail. Likewise, the court also halted promotion of Lance Corporal Kishor Gurung for two years.
The statement added that the court also decided to halt the promotion of Lieutenant Prabal Deula for three years over his failure to fulfill responsibility.
